FAD SEBASTIÀ GASCH PRIZE 1997
Because since its foundation in 1977, it has been a defining element in receiving, bringing together and supporting initiatives, professional groups and individual artists of key importance for the circus, music, dance, variety and theatre. The Ateneu Popular 9 Barris has been the home of the Catalan Circus Association. It has made it possible to attract new audiences of all ages and types. It is a forum for understanding, growth, tolerance and collaboration between artistic and social cultures of all backgrounds. On the other hand, the Ateneu Popular is a phenomenon that could not be understood without the rich and diverse social management of Nou Barris itself.
